Online Opportunities: Get your Username/Password to Join In

Congratulations! You are already a member! If you are an owner or employee of a WFDA Member funeral home then we are pleased to welcome you to your online community. If you have been logging into the online community over the past year to register for events or take online CEs, then you have taken advantage of some of the things that the new WFDA.ORG has to offer. More of you are getting online every day, and we’d like to welcome you with some information to make the most of your online community. As an FYI, we will be introducing more new features over time so be sure to visit the 3^rd week of every month for a new Online Opportunity article.

Benefits of Membership

The benefits of being a member of WFDA.ORG are many. For example,

· WFDA members took 263 hours of CE credits in the last quarter of 2009. These were hours enjoyed from the comfort of their homes or offices without travel expenses, missed business opportunities or sacrificed family time.

· Members are staying in touch with industry and association news. Our new editorial calendar that kicked off this year is already meeting with member enthusiasm.

· Members are connecting with other members. They are also enjoying opportunities to grow their careers or teams through the online job postings.

· Members are registering and paying for convention and other events online.

· And soon, district officers will be able to stay in touch with districts members through the online community.

How the community works

The basis for our online community is the fact that funeral homes are actually the members of the association. So funeral directors are members of the association by virtue of their employment with a member funeral home. To manage this connection, we have two important member types, the funeral home and the funeral director. The funeral home handles all of the business arrangements through the association like membership dues, participation in the WI Funeral Trust and more. This member type is used by the owner or leadership staff of the funeral home to manage the functions described above.

The funeral director member type, as the name suggests, is for people who are funeral directors. This is where you manage your profile, your career development, your participation in WFDA sponsored continuation education, event registration, and more.

We have other member types for guests, complimentary members and students.

Getting started: How to acquire your username and password

The process to get started is pretty straight forward. If you own a funeral home or are an employee of a funeral home first check to see if you can recover your password.

· Click here to reset your password to enter your email address or username, if you know it, to get your information sent to you. If we already have your email in the database then an automated email will be sent to you with instructions. If we don’t…
