Member Benefits

Membership in the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association is one of the best
business decisions you can make!

For more than a century, WFDA has been a strong partner to funeral directors
throughout the state. Here is a look at some of the benefits available to WFDA members:

  • Health & Dental Insurance - A wide variety of plans are available for funeral homes of all sizes.
Contact a Professional Insurance Programs, Inc. at 1-800-637-4676 for more information.
  • Business Insurance - Because funeral service is such a unique business you must be sure that your insurance coverage is specific to our profession. To compare your coverage and limits to the program offered by Meridian Insurance, simply call
    1-800-543-8608.
  • Collection Services - Thankfully, most funeral homes do not have a problem with their receivables. However, there is help available for members having difficulty with past due accounts. Oliver Adjustment Company has created a program specific for funeral homes at discounted prices. Call 1-800-337-4003 for complete details.
  • Communications - The Spotlight Magazine is published four times a year. The 32-page full color publication includes news and feature stories. The Spotlight Express broadcast fax service keeps members informed of late breaking news and important updates.
  • Education - WFDA is the best source of education programs in the state. Whether it is credits needed to fulfill CE requirements or a desire to stay on top of changes, funeral directors need to look no further than the state's largest and best funeral service association. Ongoing programs feature the nation's top speakers and cover all topics of interest. Annual events include:
  • Legislative Day (February)
  • Convention (June)
  • Fall Conference (September)
  • OSHA Staff Training (November)
  • Representation in the State Capitol - WFDA continues to protect the interest of funeral service and works with legislators to insure that our voice is heard on issues affecting our profession. Well-respected and recognized lobbyist Tom Hanson represents WFDA in the Capitol. He is well connected and understands the inner workings of the political process. Tom is extremely effective in communicating with our elected officials.
  • Trust Forms - Members can save money on 3-part carbonless trust contracts. WFDA maintains a supply of irrevocable and revocable forms as well as guaranteed and non-guaranteed contracts for the Wisconsin Funeral Trust®. There is no minimum and shipping is free. In most cases orders are sent out the next day.
  • Networking - One of the most valuable, but yet underrated member benefits is the opportunity to interact with other funeral directors from Wisconsin and the entire United States. Sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues is a valuable way to stay ahead of changes and new trends.
  • Discounts on Personal Auto and Homeowners Insurance - West Bend Mutual offers association members a 10% savings on their unique "Home and Highway Program". In addition, policyholders can earn back five percent of premiums paid for each year no claims are filed. Contact your local independent insurance agent or call 1-800-236-5010 ext. 6384 for details on this money saving program.
  • Cell Phones - By pooling airtime minutes, members can save money on their monthly bills. WFDA has signed an agreement with U.S. Cellular and Cellular One to provide extremely competitive pricing. Analog and digital service is available for as low as $9.75 per month and 10¢ per minute. Benefits include an ever expanding home calling area, free activation, voice mail, call waiting, three way calling, paging and more. Compare these prices to your current plan and you are sure to see a savings. For the name of the sales representative in your area, call the WFDA office.
  • Members Toll-Free Hotline - By calling 1-800-648-5580 WFDA members can get answers to questions. In addition, the staff at the Executive Office has access to a wide variety of resources and information available from no other source.
  • Free Classified Listings - Whether you are looking to buy or sell an item, the Spotlight Magazine and Spotlight Express is a great place to advertise. A job posting service is available to match up employees and employers.
  • The Wisconsin Funeral Trust® - Unsurpassed rates of return, simple deposit/withdrawal procedures, monthly statements, and an easy to use contract makes the WFDA Master Trust one of the most valuable services available to members. Call the WFDA office at 1-800-648-5580 and learn how your funeral home can benefit from this program.
  • District Meetings - The opportunity to interact and network with colleagues is one of the best ways to stay on top of changes and confront challenges facing our profession. As a WFDA member, you also belong to one of the twelve district associations in the state. Districts meet regularly to discuss local issues.
  • The National Funeral Directors Association - WFDA members are also a part of NFDA. As the world's largest and oldest funeral service organization, NFDA provides members with countless products and services including the best information on the FTC, OSHA and other federal regulations.
  • Long Term Care Insurance & Family Assistance - Members can purchase long term care insurance from a variety of plans at special group rates.
